And Cincinnati's Exploding Startup Community

broken image

Austin. Seattle. San Francisco. These are cities frequently thought of when “startup community” comes to mind. However, a city that should be added to this list is the Queen City itself: Cincinnati.

With a complex and rich ecosystem of physical startup companies, accelerators, angel investors, government initiatives, and university involvement, Cincinnati has exploded as a startup powerhouse that warrants national attention.

Accelerators are organizations that take growing or newly established startups under their wing to assist the company with funding and how to properly grow their business. Notable Cincinnati accelerators are The Brandery, OCEAN and UpTech, among several more. Some Cincinnati startup incubators include Bad Girl Ventures, Hamilton Mill, and NKY eZone among others. There are many Angel investors in Cincinnati that provide crucial funding to growing companies, including Queen City Angels, Vine Street Ventures and Allos Ventures, among others. An important economic development initiative that works alongside #StartupCincy is Regional Economic Development Initiative (REDI) Cincinnati. All these organizations are just some of the many which help Cincinnati grow into a startup haven.

The budding startup community in Cincinnati has turned the city into a hotbed for innovative technology, creative and forward-thinking entrepreneurs, and a positive outlook which seeks to improve people’s lives.

The unified #StartupCincy gives the Cincinnati startup community a national marketing platform that can reach far beyond its local parameters. It allows all of the moving pieces in the community come together and lets the Queen City say loud and clear: Cincinnati is a force to be reckoned with in the nationwide startup scene.
